    CEIU National Womens Conference

    The CEIU National Women’s Committee is happy to announce that the 2017 CEIU National Women’s Conference will be held at the Delta in Quebec City located at 690 René-Lévesque East, Quebec, QC G1R 5A8 on November 17-19, 2017 under the theme “CEIU WOMEN ON THE RISE”.

    The objectives of the 2017 CEIU National Women’s Conference are as follows:

    • Inspire and Educate women and provide them with the tools to take action
      and “Rise Up”
    • Reinforcing the importance of CEIU and the Canadian labour movement
      for CEIU women
    • Enabling you to Rise with CEIU, labour, and union activism
    • Learning our women’s labour history and the achievements of those who
      have Risen before us
    • Building campaigns and growing the movement – how can we improve
      the lives of our members at work?
    • On the Rise/Paying it forward – succession planning, education and
      information to build a better tomorrow

    All CEIU members in good standing who identify as women are invited to apply to attend this National Conference either as a delegate or an observer. We also encourage CEIU women from all equity groups to submit their application to attend this conference.

    Education in Action - Social Justice Fund Guatemala Trip

    Invitation to participate in the Education In Action project in Guatemala in 2018

     

    SJF Sponsorship program:  For Young Workers (18 – 35 years).   

    In addition to the subsidiesprovided to four young workers, the project is open to all PSAC members, who are able to cover their own expenses (see application for details).

     

    PSAC Social Justice Fund invites your members to participate in the next “Education In Action” project in Guatemala for 2 weeks in spring 2018. Exact dates have not been determined yet. 

    Education In Action is supported by the PSAC Social Justice Fund to engage members and other Canadians to deepen their understanding of Guatemala and to build solidarity with Mayan communities in Guatemala. 

    The PSAC Social Justice Fund is offering a sponsorship to four (4) Young Workers for the 2018 delegation. If you know of a young member who would benefit from this opportunity, please forward the attached application to them.  More information is provided about the project in the attached invitation. 

    SJF will subsidize up to $2,500 for travel, food and accommodation.   The subsidy does not cover loss of salary. 

    Space is limited therefore applications must be received by October 31, 2017.
